Baxter Arena

Go Mavs! #WearBlackGetProud

Have you caught a taco from one of Voodoo Taco's special taco canons? Did you see the Baxter Auto Zamboni making its rounds out on the ice?

We were there. We felt the excitement. We experienced the fans.

For the first time, the Mavericks are starting their season ranked as the #1 hockey team in the nation!

The Baxter Arena opened to a roaring audience and undefeated title on Friday, October 23rd.

At the beginning of June, UNO announced their partnership with Baxter Auto on the new community arena. Baxter Arena opened October 2015, becoming the official home of the UNO Mavericks hockey team.

With seating for 7,900, the Baxter Arena will host men's hockey, club hockey, ice skating and various youth programs. It will be home to men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball. UNO promises that over 33% of the ice time will be given to the community for free skate and various community events.

Baxter Arena is another step forward in the long-standing relationship between Baxter Auto and UNO. Tal Anderson, founder of Baxter, attended UNO for his undergraduate degree. Later, Tal gave back to UNO by serving on the Alumni Board, the Chancellors Committee and as a member of the College of Business Advisory Board.

Today, this partnership between Baxter and UNO remains strong as Baxter continues Tal's commitment of giving time, donations and support for quality education. The most fulfilling aspect of Tal's career was the opportunity to give back to his employees and the community that supported him and continue to support Baxter Auto. Baxter Arena is one way to continue Tal's vision.

Baxter Arena is more than just a name on the side of a building. The arena will be an Omaha landmark as Baxter remains committed to maintaining the highest standard of business now and in the future.
