Technician Apprenticeship Program

The program will consist of time spent in the classroom while working at least part-time hours at the sponsoring Baxter dealership. Technician apprentices will start as a Service Trainee in the Detail or Lube Tech area and progress appropriately into other areas through mentoring and skill rotation with designated Service Technicians. Upon completion of the program, the sponsoring dealership will gift the apprentice with a Starter Tool Kit.

Program Eligibility

  • Employed at least part-time at a Baxter Auto dealership.
  • Approval of program enrollment by the direct supervisor or manager
  • Verifiable enrollment into an approved two-year Automotive Technology program with an approved educational partner
  • High school students must be enrolled into the Avenue Scholars or YBC programs offering dual enrollment at select colleges

Program Terms and Conditions

  • Participants must complete all course requirements with a passing grade on the first time taking the course. Baxter Auto will not pay for any failed, incomplete, or repeat courses.
  • Upon program enrollment, participants will be hired or transferred into the Service Trainee role at $14.00 per hour and will be paid for hours worked while at the dealership.
  • Hours worked may vary in accordance with the agreed upon schedule between the program participant and the direct supervisor or manager.
  • Upon graduation, program participants will be required to work full-time at the sponsoring dealership for up to 36 months (3 years) to complete the program tuition forgiveness requirements.
  • The starter tool kit will remain the property of Baxter Auto until the work commitment has been fulfilled.

Program Payout

Baxter Auto Group will pay for you to go to school while working with the best technicians in the industry.

Eligible employees are able to receive non-taxable tuition assistance up to $5,250.00 per year for verified enrollment in an approved two-year Automotive Technology Program with one of our approved educational partners. The assistance will cover all approved tuition, books, and fees.

Upon successful completion of the program, the student will receive a starter tool kit provided by the sponsoring dealership.
