Every day, we’ve continued to adapt to our community’s fast-changing needs and we want to make sure we’re doing everything we can to support our team and provide the necessary vehicle services to our communities in Nebraska.
We've announced a couple of changes that will go into effect today and last until further notice.
We’ll split our stores into A/B teams to maintain operations while adhering to the gathering limit recommendations from the CDC. This will help us as we work to ensure the safety of our team members and our stores, by reducing the number of active employees within each of our store locations. It also allows for deep cleaning activities once our stores are closed, preparing our locations for the next team. And, this approach builds on the immediate response we shared earlier this month, including enhanced cleaning and a reorientation around in-demand services that support social distancing, like Service Pickup and Delivery, At-Home Test Drives and Hassle-Free Delivery.
We’ve expanded our ability to complete a necessary vehicle purchase from anywhere, and to stay connected with you—our guests—from anywhere. In addition to morphing the operations of our physical locations, we have also implemented new systems, processes and tools that allow for our team to complete a transaction 100% remotely. This includes digital signatures on routine paperwork, over-the-phone consultations regarding protection plans and financing, and live updates regarding your vehicle’s service needs. And, when possible, we are extending the ability to work remotely to much of our staff.
During this challenging time, I can assure you that the Baxter team is working hard to be there for you and your families – and we’re doubling down on everything we can to support them.
We recently announced changes to many of our employee benefits, including the ability for our team to access to a newly created care provider fund to help manage through the recent school and daycare closures. This comes on top of temporarily waiving our absenteeism policy and covering quarantine and confirmed illness pay. We’ll also continue to offer benefits like paid family leave and free counseling services for the range of challenges our team might be facing.
So much of what we’ve seen over the last few weeks has been truly admirable. From our dedicated teams shifting the way we work to serve our guests in a new way that protects the safety and well-being of all, to the way you and your families have come together around our community.
Our commitment to creating remarkable experiences and delivering radical service in all that we do is at the heart of Baxter’s purpose. Our goal is to be here for you during this time of need, and for many years to come. We will keep navigating through this uncertainty together – and we appreciate your patience and support as we work to keep that commitment to our employees, our communities and our guests.
